Operation and Responsibilities
Each scientific sector of the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies is administered by a board elected and headed by a director, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies, elected by the Council.
The Sector council is composed of :
- Elected members
- The Vice Dean
- 10 representatives of professors and related categories
- 10 representatives of other teachers and related categories
- 2 representatives of undergraduate students + 2 alternate members
- 2 representative of Master students + 2 alternate members
- 2 representatives of Doctoral students + 2 alternate members
- 3 IATSS staff members and alternate members
- 3 representatives of IATSS staff members and alternate members
- Permanent guests
Responsibilities
The council deliberates and votes on any matter concerning the scientific sector: if the issue involved is important enough, it can receive upstream the advice of the concerned departments and instances.
In plenary session, the scientific Sector council may be consulted especially for:
- The general organisation of the sector
- The allowance of the sector’s funds
- The definition of the academic programs
- The designation of the training managers
- The organisation of teachings and the procedures of control of knowledge
- The requests for publication, transformation and creation of IATSS and teacher positions
- The contracts and agreement projects
- The delegation to the Vice Dean of some or all of the powers

Any question related to the individual careers of teachers and teachers-researchers, to the organisation of their department and to their benefits system.
